Lower back pain is currently the most burdensome health condition in the world. In our lifetime over 80% of us will experience back pain. Despite this alarming figure for a long time we haven’t been very good at treating it. We also now know that 95% of these are nothing serious despite how much they hurt. Our new understanding of pain guides us to treat differently now, however. It maybe different than what you have experienced but this is a good thing, hopefully it will change the stats of what we all have experienced and build some long-term sustainability.
Shoulders are the most complex joint in the body. They allow us to have an extraordinary range of movement. However, this does come with its common share of pain complaints because of this luxury. It is scary to think of rotator cuff tears and bursitis, but often these are a small part of the picture and simply building cuff resilience can allow you to make a full recovery.
Whether its from desk related work or simply a grumbly stiff neck with age, the best way to manage these are with mobility and resilience. We can help show you how to stay strong and keep your neck healthy and happy.
There is a variety of conditions that can contribute to hip pain. The most common we see is often arthritic hips or lateral hip pain often seen in runners or middle-aged women who simply struggle with stairs, walking or sleeping at night. These are completely changeable and adaptable, you simply need to be shown how.
Knee pain is one of the most common issues we see. Like most conditions though it is usually nothing serious and very changeable. But even if you have had a more significant knee injury this is what we are here for.
- Patellofemoral pain (overload of the kneecap) – Changeable
- Meniscal tears – Changeable
- ACL tears- Changeable
All of these whilst sounding quite scary, have a good chance of not needing anything further than a bit of hard work and rehabilitation.
Foot pain can be quite debilitating as often many of us spend our days on our feet. We can help you identify why your foot is struggling to handle your daily demands and guide you on how to change that, whether that involves some temporary orthotics, a bit of exercise or changing how you move.
Chronic pain covers 3 of the top 5 most burdensome health conditions in the world. These being back, neck or knee pain. However, it affects many more in many other areas and ways. Chronic pain is classified as any pain that lasts over 3-6 months which is our bodies natural healing timeframes.
Over the last 20 years we have learnt a lot more about how pain and the brain work. Know there is many aspects that can contribute to pain. Research has shown us that whilst structure and anatomy have some part to play in pain, so does your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, sleep or even your experiences with pain.
It can be very hard to manage chronic pain and often people have a long history of failed management with scans, surgeries, exercise or medication. This has cost them time, effort, money, relationships and has taken over their entire life.
Unfortunately, evidence also states it takes approximately 17 years on average for quality evidence to become widely used in health. At Evolving we keep up with this research and that’s why we can offer you a new hope you may not have experienced before.
It is often slow, but these are the people that we can help most and if applied right can be life changing.
Soccer, football, tennis, weightlifting, swimming, ballet. You name it and we have experienced it. With a strength and conditioning background and our sporting experience at all levels, we can help guide you back from injury or simply help improve your performance to reach your goals.
ACL injuries are one of the most frequent and debilitating lower limb performance injuries we see. What you may not know is that whilst a lot of research has gone into these traditional methods such as surgery, haven’t been that successful in the long run with high rates of re-ruptures. We now know that many of these injuries manage perfectly fine without an ACL. Unless required to return to professional level sport, many of these we get back to 100% without surgery.
What ever your functional goal or sporting injury, this is our bread and butter and our facility and knowledge is built to offer you the best there is so you can get back to achieving your best.
A lot of the ageing community suffer with falls and balance issues. We now offer a strength and balance class weekly to help those struggling to fight the earths gravity.
Dizziness is also a common complaint that we treat. Some dizziness conditions are very treatable and removable once recognised and diagnosed. If you suffer with dizziness than please come and see us so we can help you with your complaint or guide you to the right steps to do so.
After my 20+ years within the ADF, I have sustained injuries that required the treatment of a Physiotherapists. During this time I have not seen the amount of passion and dedication towards a clients recovery as much as I have seen within Dale Hardes. Dale has supported me in so many ways that I can not count. He is dedicated to helping you achieve your goals no matter how small or big they are. I know that I have been extremely lucking to have found Dale to help me throughout my rehabilitation after being medically discharged from the ADF. Thank you so much Dale.
I have been seeing Dale now on and off for almost 2 years for what can only be described as a difficult ankle injury. I have seen a number of physio’s in trying to help me recover and Evolving Physiotherapy is by far the most proficient in evidenced based treatment and in the contemporary methods of treatment. Unlike many physio’s Dale won’t leave you on pointless machines so he can double book patients and he will move you into self-management as early as he can. Dale has always taken the time to explain where my treatment was heading and will take any concerns or restrictions on board. Besides the professional and effective manner your treatment will be conducted you will also genuinely enjoy the bedside manner on offer from the team. can’t recommend Dale and the Evolving Physiotherapy team enough.
I have worked with Dale in a full-time capacity for 12 months and we continue to work together in a referral sense. I can say with absolute certainty that I have not worked with many clinicians of Dale’s calibre. Dale’s approach to injury management combines best evidence with practical and sensible movement-based treatment. Dale’s personable approach to treatment ensures that every client he sees gets an experience that is unique not only their injury, but also their individual circumstances. From a strength and conditioning perspective, Dale’s advantage over so many other physiotherapists is he wants you to be moving pain free as soon as possible and facilitates this in a manner that is encouraging and appropriate for your movement history and movement goals.
